Sandy Musser - Adoption Reform Activist & Author

I Would Have Search Forever
First published in 1979 while the author was searching for the daughter she surrendered in 1954. It is an intensely personal story as well as dealing with issues surrounding adoption during the 1950's. It was the first  book of its kind to be written by a birthmother in search.

This book written and published over 30 years ago is no longer in print; however,
used copies can still be located on the Internet.

                                                        To Prison With Love
After dedicating almost 20 years of her life to adoption reform and reuniting over 500 families, Sandy was indicted by the Federal Government and sent to prison. In challenging the sealed records law, she was charged with "conspiracy to defraud the government of confidential information." Her adversaries, intent on keeping the status quo, referred to her as a 'vigilante' and a 'terrorist'  - proceeded to set her up for a fall.

It is a thought-provoking story that will cause you to rethink the adoption laws in our country.

Excerpt from the Foreward  by Author, Reuben Pannor:
"One need only to look at the leaders of the civil rights movement like Martin Luther King, who believed that unjust laws should be challenged.  By following her conscience and challending sealed records, Sandy was acting for all whose lives are touched by adoption."

Annette Baran, Author
In all reform movements, there comes a time when individuals are called upon to stand strong in their beliefs . . . Musser demonstrates clearly the depth of her moral fiber in this book which is written from the heart."
